FAQs

Who can attend?

This event is open to women in our community. Due to the inclusion of sauna activities, participants must be adults — unfortunately, children cannot attend.

How much does it cost?

The event is free to attend so that every woman can participate regardless of financial situation. However, if you are able, a koha of $20 is warmly welcomed.
All contributions go directly toward the Wairarapa Women’s Centre’s wellbeing programmes, including our weekly lunchtime yoga sessions and future community events.

What should I bring?

Please bring:

  • Comfortable clothing suitable for yoga and light movement.

  • A towel and robe if it helps you feel more comfortable for sauna or relaxation. For a sauna, wear loose, breathable clothing like cotton, linen, or a bathing suit, and bring towels to sit on for hygiene

  • You’re welcome to bring your own yoga mat — we’ll also have a limited number available for those who don’t have one.

If you need help sourcing supplies or have accessibility needs,

please contact Christie at wairarapanzwomen@gmail.com.

Will food be provided?

Yes — kai and refreshments will be served throughout the day. There will be time to relax, eat, and connect with others in a caring and inclusive environment.

What activities are included?

The event includes:

  • A guided yoga session and opportunities to experience sauna.

  • Massage and self-care activities, including making your own wellness products.

  • Story circles and kōrero — intimate, facilitated conversations for sharing experiences and reflections.

Is the venue accessible?

Yes. The venue includes a wheelchair ramp and accessible facilities. Volunteers will be available to assist anyone who needs support moving around the space.

Is the space private?

Yes. The venue will be closed to the public for the duration of the event to create a safe, private, and comfortable environment for all participants.

Where can I park?

Street-side parking is available near the venue. Volunteers will be on site to greet you and assist with directions when you arrive.

When does the event start and finish?

The event begins at 1:00 pm and concludes at 5:00 pm. Please arrive a few minutes early to sign in and get settled before we begin.
